Quantum leap in motion simulator technology closes gap between simulation and reality

August 2019

7

Gold Coast, Australia — Next Level Racing is introducing new technology that offers fans of driver and flight simulators a level of realism previously unmatched in the simulation industry.

Despite marked improvements in simulation technology in recent decades, there remained a gap between the raw realism and sensation of being behind the wheel or a joystick, and the experience that even the best simulators could offer. Now, thanks to Next Level Racing’s Traction Plus technology, that gap has nearly been shut.

“Our goal is to be the world leader in racing simulation technology,” said Hess Ghah, CEO of Next Level Racing, “We understood that in order to achieve the ultimate realism that we strive to offer our customers, we needed completely unique technology and engineering.”

To achieve that ultimate level of realism, the team at Next Level Racing has worked with world leading motion and software engineers for over 4 years on the Traction Plus. The result is an experience that lets drivers feel sway, surge, roll, pitch, understeer and front traction loss, oversteer and rear traction loss, power sliders and drifting, partial heave and vehicle/road effects in ways that were previously unheard of. Users will even be able to sense and feel the subtle differences between front, rear and four-wheel drive vehicles thanks to the precise feedback Traction Plus offers.

“For a consumer-level motion platform, it’s absolutely outstanding,” exclaimed Lee Mather, Game Director of Codemasters F1 2019, after trying out Traction Plus at the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). “I’ve used many platforms (…) but to finally have one that has a sled as part of it, it brings a whole different dimension to the way it feels.”

If the user is in the air, as opposed to on the pavement, the pilot is able to feel traverse axis, lateral turbulence and side wind effects, as well as the experience of a crosswind landing. Much like Next Level Racing’s Racing Motion Platform V3, Traction Plus technology can be used to simulate flight and landing at a level recognized and utilized by military and defence contractors and departments.

“This is product we are very proud to launch and offer to our customers both professional and home users,” affirmed Ghah. “We plan to continue innovating with a product range that continues to close the gap between simulation and real life.”

The Next Level Racing® Traction Plus platform is available from August through global retailers, including those Europe (€5999 EUR, VAT included), UK (£5499 GBP, VAT included) and Asia Pacific ($8999 AUD, GST included / $5999 USD).
North American partners will receive stock Q4 2019.
