What got you into racing?

Ever since I was a kid growing up in South Korea, I had a deep love for cars and speed. My hometown didn’t have a strong motorsport scene, which actually made me even more determined to follow what I loved. When I saw drifting for the first time, the way the car would slide, the controlled chaos of it, I was instantly hooked. I started by watching drifting videos, practicing whenever I could, and one day realised that this was the discipline that truly spoke to me. Over time I made the leap into competition and found my place in the racing world.

What is the your goal for the next 2 years?

Over the coming two years, my goal is to participate in Formula Drift and time-attack series. So I’m aiming for podium finishes at high-level international events, improving my consistency and precision behind the wheel, and building my presence as a driver who competes at the very top. In short: sharpen my drift and time attack technique, compete internationally with strong results, and contribute to the sport beyond just driving.

What is your favourite race track to race on?

That’s always a tough one because every country has a different vibe and I love that challenge. But if I had to choose a few that really stand out: Meikarta in Indonesia will always be special to me. That’s where I finished P4 at the IDS WDC Pro Class, and the atmosphere was just incredible. The fans there gave me so much energy, every cheer made me push harder. The track itself isn’t easy; it really forces you to stay sharp and give everything you’ve got. Taking home that trophy after such a tough battle is something I’ll never forget. And of course, Korea, it’s where everything started for me. There’s a lot of pride and emotion when I race at home. The support from KARA (Korean Automotive Racing Association) who support local talents, like me & Korean fans always hits differently. Every event there reminds me why I fell in love with this sport in the first place.

How is simulation helping your training?

I’m actually just stepping into more simulator training recently, especially for unfamiliar tracks and improving my consistency. With the full sim setup sent by Next Level Racing, I’m now able to train at home in a way that feels much closer to the real thing. Spending time on the sim helps me build mental reference points before I’m even trackside racing lines, braking zones, rhythm. That way, when I show up to a new event, I’m already familiar with the flow of the circuit. Sim practice also lets me repeat laps, test different setups, and work on decision-making in a totally risk-free environment. It really reduces the mental load during race weekends, because a lot of the groundwork is already done.
